A tablet-based School Information System (SIS) was introduced to all schools involved in EQUIP-Tanzania in late 2016. It provides more timely and accurate data and supports performance management at all levels, from school upwards.
A highly innovative development, the system can capture real-time daily data and upload it to central servers. School leadership are able to use it for management and quality improvement while government can make better-informed planning and budgeting decisions. The system is at an early stage of development with the potential for national scale up and government commitment to its roll-out from PO-RALG.
Recently, LGAs across all seven regions received training on the use of the system from installation to use.
